Naples Workshop

COMENIUS INTERNATIONAL PROJECT, A SHORT MOVIE FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF YOUNG EUROPEANS

Naples Workshop

The third workshop from the Comenius international project, A Short Movie from the Viewpoint of Young European, took place in Naples, Italy, from 16 to 21 April 2012. The topic for the Naples workshop was Our town – Legends and History. Our students from year 10 prepared a movie about Bucharest. We went around the historical places of Bucharest and we made a short movie about our town’s legends, history and important places. We all enjoyed filming in the Lipscani Area, the Manuc’s Inn (Hanul lui Manuc), the Old Princely Court & Church (Palatul si Biserica Curtea Veche), the Stavropoleos Monastery (Manastirea Stavropoleos), the Russian Church (Biserica Rusa), the Coltea Hospital (Spitalul Coltea), the  Sutu Palace (Palatul Sutu), the University of Bucharest (Universitatea din Bucuresti), the Patriarchal Cathedral and the palace of the Patriarchate and the House of Parliament (Palatul Parlamentului or Casa Poporului). The 15 minutes movie about Bucharest has been appreciated by our partners during the Naples workshop where it had been presented. In Italy we also visited Rome, Vatican and Pompeii.
We believed this experience enhanced us and we are looking forward for the next meeting that will take place in Latvia, in October 2012.

  1. The trip to Naples was a very successful and enjoyable one! We received the opportunity to observe the different cultures of the diverse countries represented in the meetings through the wonderful movies that each of the participants took time producing.
The topic for the movies were: Our Town - Legends and History. We learnt about traditional Easter foods from Greece, the types of bars in Hungary, and much, much more.
We people from the Romanian Team thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Naples meeting, as well as producing the movie itself. We had fun making the movie, but we learnt lots of new things on the way.
The Comenius Project is a wonderful way to interact with diverse people, thus opening our mind to different horizons. Going to Naples was an unique experience and, personally, I'll never forget it.
I look foward to going to Latvia in October 2012 for a chance to relive that unique experience!

  2. Both trips to Czech Republic and Italy have been a wonderful experience. Not only have I visited two countries that I have never been to and learn new things about them but I also met people that I will never forget. My colleagues and I have had fun making the movie and we hope to continue to do so. I have learn things about the countries and I have seen how every country was different from the others. People in the Comenius Project were very friendly and I hope to see them again. I enjoyed both trips and I hope everyone else did as well. I am glad that every person involved in this project had the opportunity to be a part of this and I really hope that everyone shared a memory that they will never forget. Loooking Forward to going to Latvia in October!
